Crazy Cajun Crawfish was founded by Darrel Vanderslice, a resident of Lake Charles, Louisiana since early childhood and a home-grown crawfish expert! Darrel learned the best of cajun cooking working in the cajun cook houses throughout Southern Louisiana. It was here that he learned the finer points of speciality cajun dishes like live crawfish and turducken. In these world famous cajun haunts Darrel handled over 500,000 lbs of crawfish annually. A critical part of Darrel's "cajun education" was learning to put away crawfish like a champ - winning the Lake Charles crawfish eating contest and competing in the state-wide competition. Today Darrel has made it his mission to expand the fun, festivities and amazing flavors of cajun cooking to neighboring areas like Texas. Crazy Cajun began delivering high quality, fresh, live crawfish in Southeastern Texas in 2005 and is now expanding into Central Texas for the 2008 season!
